Microsoft Outlook Express Setup (File sending & spam filtering)
These instructions will help you to configure Microsoft Outlook Express to use both the
file sending and the spam filtering services of Tonsho.
Step 1
- Open Microsoft Outlook Express, then select Tools --> Accounts
Step 2
- Click the Add button, then select Mail.
Step 3
- Enter your Name as you would like it to appear to your recipients.
- Then click the Next button.
Step 4
- Enter your E-mail Address (bob@example.com).
- Then click the Next button.
Step 5
- Select POP3 from the dropdown menu.
- Enter your Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server as mail.tonsho.com.
- Enter your Outoing (SMTP) server as mail.tonsho.com.
- Then click the Next button.
Step 7
- Select the account you just created (mail.tonsho.com).
- Click the Properties button.
Step 8
- Select the Servers tab.
- Check the My server requires authentication checkbox.
- Then click the Settings button.
Step 9
- Select the Use same settings as my incoming mail server radio button.
- Click the OK button.
Step 10
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Enter Outgoing mail (SMTP) as 26.
- Move the Server Timeouts slider all the way to the right (Long: 5 minutes)
- Click the OK button.
- Then click the Close button.
Step 11
- Enter your existing POP3 settings.
- Click the Save button.
- You're done!
A control to edit your pop settings appears here when you are logged in.
Step 12 (optional)
Import the contacts from your address book, to pre-authorize people you already know,
meaning they will not be sent challenge emails when they try to contact you. This can be
done using the import button from the allowed contacts page.
Important: For the spam filtering service to function properly,
you must not use any existing accounts which pop (receive) mail from your original
POP server (pop.example.com).
