General Setup Instructions

These instructions will help you to configure your email client to use the file sending and/or spam filtering service of Tonsho.

File sending setup

To configure Tonsho you need configure the server that your email client uses, this is usually referred to as the 'account settings' in email clients. Here are the details of your account settings.

Your SMTP (outgoing) Server
Host: mail.tonsho.com
Port: 26
Username: 1
Password:

Spam filtering setup

Step 1

To allow Tonsho to fetch your mail and perform the spam filtering, configure Tonsho with your current pop3 server settings. You can read the host, port and user name from your current email client account settings. If you have forgotten the password you can either find it in an email or letter from your ISP or request your ISP to resend it.

  • Enter your existing POP3 settings.
  • Click the Save button.

A control to edit your pop settings appears here when you are logged in.

Step 2

To fetch the filtered mail from Tonsho configure your email client with new pop3 details:

Your POP3 (inbound) Server
Host: mail.tonsho.com
Port: 110
Username: 1
Password:

Step 3 (optional)

Import the contacts from your address book, to pre-authorize people you already know, meaning they will not be sent challenge emails when they try to contact you. This can be done using the import button from the allowed contacts page.

Important: For the spam filtering service to function properly, you must not use any existing accounts which pop (receive) mail from your original POP server (mail.pop.com).
