Large File Sending
Once you've signed up and want to send a large email attachment, you simply attach the
file to your email as normal. You hit 'send' and the mail goes through our mail servers.
The attachments are lifted from the mail and placed on a password protected web server.
The recipient gets your email with an added link and password to the web page containing
the attached files. You can optionally turn the password protection off to allow quicker
access to files. You receive an email notification to inform you that the email has been
sent.
Alternatively, if sending files larger than 100Mb or sending large numbers of attached
files, step 1 would differ in that you write the email and upload the files via our
web service.
For professional and business users, complete management of the file transfer is
ensured using the download tracking feature. Track who has downloaded the file and when
they did so, by logging in to your Tonsho account.
Spam Filtering
Tonsho also offers a spam filtering service that keeps you in control of your inbox. It combines a white list system with a rules-based system. By maintaining a list of contacts called your 'allowed contact' list, emails from people already in your allowed contact list come through as normal. This means that you don't lose mail from existing contacts to your spam folder. This is called a white list system.
Emails from senders not on your list will then go through a rules-based filter system and you decide how strict the system is. (The rules are created using commonly known information about spam, e.g. the content of the email and subject lines). At the most strict setting, all emails from senders not on your list are blocked and go into a blocked contacts list. The laxer the setting, the more emails will come through from unknown senders and the more likely it is that spam will make it to your inbox. You remain in control of how strict you want the settings to be.
You can then opt to be notified of newly blocked emails in a simple 'glance at' list either daily or weekly, or if required every time an email is blocked. You can then identify any blocked emails that you want to receive and in one easy click the sender will be added to your allowed contacts list, meaning their current and future emails will arrive straight into your inbox. If at any time you wish to re-block the sender it is simple to remove them from your allowed contacts list.
Creating your allowed contacts list is straightforward- you can upload all the contacts from your current email program's address book.
