What is Tonsho?
Tonsho is an email service with two special features:
- Easy sending of large file attachments
- Filtering spam by authenticating users
File Sending
Normally a large email attachment, usually over 5Mb, will bounce back marked undelivered.
So if you're trying to send a set of photos, a large report with graphics or extensive
reference sections as an attachment they just won't be delivered. Currently Tonsho allows
you to send files of up to 100Mb, that's 20 times larger than a standard email service
usually allows! Over time this limit will increase to 1Gb.
It also allows you to do this without having to upload the attachment separately to a
website - you just send an email as normal with the attachment, using your usual email
client (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Mac Mail or Thunderbird on Linux). This is hassle free,
heavyweight mail.

Spam Filtering
Unwanted spam (junk) email is the problem that threatens to take over your inbox. Standard
spam solutions seek to resolve this by automatically recognizing spam emails before they
reach your inbox and sending those emails to a junk folder. However these systems are flawed
- all too often you will miss important emails from customers or friends as they will have
been incorrectly identified as spam and never make it to your inbox. This problem is known
in the industry as false positives.
The vast majority of junk mail comes from computer programs known as automated emailers.
Tonsho eradicates this problem by getting users to prove they are human and genuinely
interested in contacting you. This ensures that all valid mail can reach you, whilst
effectively blocking all the auto-generated junk.
